One of the big reasons for this is because the hydroponics system offers a lot more benefits and advantages as compared to the traditional garden, such as less space required to start it, shorter growing time for plants, greater amount of control of everything and of course bigger and healthier plants.
While this system does have a lot of benefits for your garden, you first need to understand how hydroponics works especially when it comes to the amount of water in the system. You need to remember that even minor and small changes can make your efforts go to waste as everything needs to be done right as not doing so could stunt the growth of your plants and make it not grow healthily. With this, it is important to know how to set-up the system properly so you have no problems.
One of the more important things for the setup of your hydroponics system is the water temperature. The water should not be too cold or too hot because your plants will not survive either way. The ideal range of temperature for your water is around 65-75 degrees Fahrenheit. To ensure that the temperature is in that range, you need to have a digital thermometer in your garden and making sure you always check your water on a daily basis to make sure it doesn’t get to hot or cold. If you want, you can use chillers and heaters when the temperature of your water is not in the ideal range. You could also consider using a light source to help warm the water.
Another important part of your system is the water filter. This is important for a hydroponics garden to help remove bacteria, chemicals and other contaminants that may affect your plants. The filter is important not only to clean your
water, but also to help in pH regulation. Many gardeners recommend the reverse osmosis filter to help remove impurities that could get t o your plants. Even though you do have the filter to help in pH regulation, you should still check your pH regularly to make sure it is at where it needs to be.
Lastly, you should not overlook the importance of a water pump and having timer in your gardens. Both are important to regulate the flow of the system itself. Without the water pump and timer, you will need to manually turn on and off the pump and for most people they don’t have the time to do this every day.
